Malayalam film Pavi Caretaker, directed by Vineeth Kumar, hit the big screens today on April 26. The film stars actor Dileep alongside five new female actresses. Notable actors such as Johnny Antony, Radhika Sarathkumar, Dharmajan Bolgatty, and Spadikam George are also part of the cast. Newcomers Juhi Jayakumar, Shreya Rugmini, Rosmin, Swathi, and Dileena Ramakrishnan make their debut in the film. Produced by Dileep himself under the banner of Grand Productions, Pavi Caretaker is scripted by Rajesh Raghavan, following the success of Aravindante Athidhikal. Mithun Mukundan, known for his successful work in Kannada and Malayalam cinema, serves as the music director for the film. Sanu Thahir handled the cinematography, while Deepu Joseph took charge of the editing
Pavi Caretaker revolves around the life of Pavi, a caretaker working in a residential complex, as he navigates through life’s challenges. His routine existence takes a dramatic turn when an unexpected bond forms, reshaping his journey. He is actually an undercover agent who assumes the guise of a security guard at Cloud9 Villa. The residents gradually realise that he is more than just a guard or an agent. The ensuing drama and revelations drive the narrative forward, forming the heart of the storyline.
The movie has been getting mixed reviews from viewers. Some have been praising the film, while others are calling out its outdated script and the below average second half. This lukewarm response could be a blow for Dileep, for whom this film was a big opportunity to save his waning stardom.

During the trailer launch event of the film, Dileep opened up to the media about the significance of Pavi Caretaker to him, especially during a challenging phase of his career. Emphasising its importance, he revealed that the film marks his 149th project. “As someone who cries daily and makes my audience laugh through my films, Pavi Caretaker is very important to me,” he added. He further said that the film has both funny and heartwarming moments and expressed optimism about the audience accepting the film.
