Suriya is gearing up for his next release Kanguva. The film has already created a lot of buzz among the audience. Fans are eagerly waiting for its release. The film also stars Bobby Deol. Well, recently the makers dropped the teaser which has only increased the excitement level. But do you know that it has been shot in real-life locations? Yes, you reading right.
The film presents the story of two eras, historic and present, and keeping this in mind, the makers have filmed it in several real-life locations across the globe. To keep the uniqueness and theme of the film, the makers have shot it in exotic locations in Goa, Europe, and a major schedule, including war sequences, was shot in Sri Lanka for 60 days. Touted as a film with a budget worth 350 crores, the makers canned some major sequences on the outskirts of Chennai and even in Pondicherry.
An important sequence featuring Suriya was filmed recently in Kerala and the Kodaikanal forests. Last year, around October, a three-week marathon schedule with the cast and crew was shot in Bangkok, and the makers used the Alexa Super 35 and Alexa LF camera versions for a better output of the action sequences.
The film is billed as one of the big-budget films of the year and the budget for the pan-world film is touted to be more than Rs 350 crores.
According to a source close to the production, “Kanguva is shaping up brilliantly. Right from the technical department to the execution, stunts, war sequence and the characterisations, makers are leaving no stone unturned to bring cinematic marvel to the audiences. The makers have mounted the film on a huge canvas with a massive budget of 350 Cr. and once it’s released, everyone will see it on screens”
The teaser also introduces the world to director Siva’s vision, which he has built on a huge scale with Studio Green’s backing. Kanguva promises a raw, rustic, and new visual experience to the audience with human emotions, powerful performances, and never-before-seen action sequences on a big scale. The film features cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy and a musical score by Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad.
The release of the film is planned in the second half of 2024. Featuring Suriya and Disha Patani in the titular characters, the film is directed by Siva, the creator of many blockbuster hits in his career. Other star cast of the film will be revealed in due course. The film features cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy and musical score by ‘Rockstar’ Devi Sri Prasad.
