Fardeen Khan made a strong return to Bollywood after a long break with Heeramandi earlier this year, followed by Khel Khel Mein. He’s now busy shooting for Housefull 5. Recently, he shared that his son is interested in acting, following the family’s legacy, but admitted that it’s a tough and “all-consuming” industry. In a chat with GQ India, Fardeen was asked about his kids becoming actors. He said both his daughter, Diani, and son, Azarius, are involved in the arts. His 11-year-old daughter, in particular, loves singing, dancing, and performing.
Fardeen said, “The other day, my 7-year-old son was asked in school what he wanted to do when he grows up. He said he wanted to be an actor like his dad. If they choose to be in my profession, it would give me so much joy. But it’s not easy… it’s an all-consuming business.”
Earlier in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Fardeen had opened up about his hiatus from the film industry. He said, “After my father passed, I needed some time off. I went through a tough time. I had a little bit of a health scare myself in 2009, just a few months after my father passed. Then we were very keen to have a family, Natasha and me. We had challenges in having children, so we had to go the IVF route. We had a bad experience with doctors here in Mumbai. Natasha really suffered because IVF is not easy. It’s very hard on your body and on your health,” he had shared.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar marked Fardeen Khan’s much-awaited comeback after 14 long years. Fardeen Khan was last seen in the 2010 film Dulha Mil Gaya. He was seen in Khel Khel Mein this year and is currently shooting for Housefull 5, co-starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and others.
