The teaser of the highly-anticipated sports drama Toofan dropped last Friday and quickly won the approval of fans who were blown away by lead actor Farhan Akhtar’s performance. On Monday, the actor took to Instagram to pen an emotional note thanking fans for showering their love on the teaser.
He wrote, “Thank you for the love you have shown the teaser. It makes every drop of blood, sweat and tears put into creating this character, worth having shed.”
He also ended the note with two lines from the film. “Bas do ghadi hai ye duniya sunsaan, aayega Toofaan. Waqt ne apne teer liye taan, aayega Toofaan,” it read.

The teaser of Toofan was also appreciated by Farhan’s industry colleagues including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and others. Toofan teaser promised the story of a goon who reforms his life to become a professional boxer.

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Toofan also stars Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak Kapur and Hussain Dalal. The film will release on May 21 on Amazon Prime Video. This is the second collaboration between Farhan and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The duo previously worked together in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The sports movie was the biopic of former track and field athlete Milkha Singh.
