Glen Powell To Star In Star Wars Director JJ Abrams' Next? Here's What We Know
Glen Powell is reportedly in talks to feature in JJ Abrams' next film. Details about the film's plot are kept under wraps.

Glen Powell seems to be on a ride as he continues to fuel new movie projects. In his latest venture, the Hollywood actor is said to be in early talks with none other than JJ Abrams’s next directorial project. According to a Deadline report, the film will be created from a script written by Abrams himself. While the deal is yet to be closed, Powell’s recent career chart makes him a convincing pick for big filmmakers and studios. Details about the plot, shooting schedule, and other things have been presently kept under wraps.

It is still uncertain if the big project will fit into Powell’s production schedule. However, if the plan works out, it will be Abrams’s first feature film after 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The film currently does not have a studio attached; however, there is a chance that it could end up at Warner Bros where Abrams’ Bad Robot has an overall deal, states ComicBook.com.

Glen Powell’s lined-up projects

The Top Gun: Maverick star has a number of exciting releases lined up in the coming months. Powell will be next seen in time as Tyler Owens in Twisters, a sequel to the 1996 hit film Twister. The film story revolves around Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser who is haunted by devastating tornadoes during her college years. The film proceeds to show how Kate is brought back to the open plains where she happens to cross paths with Tyler (Glen Powell).

He will also be seen in Richard Linklater’s Hit Man. In addition to that, Powell also has Edgar Wright’s The Running Man reboot for Paramount, which was revealed at the CinemaCon. Apart from the release, the actor is shooting his upcoming revenge drama, Huntington.

On top of it, Powell has another film in his kitty alongside actors like Anthony Mackie and Laura Dern. Said to be a legal drama from John Lee Hancock, the film titled Monsanto is based on the true story of a young, untried attorney Brent Wisner who takes a challenging case against the giant U.S. chemical company Monsanto on behalf of Dewayne “Lee” Johnson.

“I was drawn to this contemporary David vs. Goliath true story because I found it dramatic, moving, quite funny, and of critical importance in today’s world,” said Hancock. “My ambitions are to deliver a smart, thoughtful, and commercial legal drama that takes the audience on a human journey,” said Hancock in a statement as quoted by Variety.
