There have been several discussions and heated debates about the most deserving films in 2014. The past year saw an interesting blend of films that won commercial success and critical acclaim. So while the big films got bigger, several offbeat projects also found several takers. In the second edition of IBNLive Movie Awards, we select nominees in various popular categories and allow our readers decide the outcome. Take our poll to vote and choose your favourite performers of 2014.
These are the nominees in the Best Supporting Actor (Male) category:
Inamul Haq (Filmistaan): From his comic timing to dialogue delivery and the way he portrayed the role of Aftab, Inamul Haq was truly impressive. For the uninitiated, he played pirate who trade bootlegged DVDs to countrymen. He is remembered for his chemistry with Sharib Hashmi.
Kay Kay Menon (Haider): Kay Kay Menon made himself really interesting to watch in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Haider', and also made the viewers want to watch more. His intense facial expression, well-planned moved, interesting body language left an impact.
Ronit Roy (2 States): He may have played a wife beater, a drunkard and a detached father of Arjun Kapoor in '2 States'. But he quite evidently had fun with his character. It was the 'realness' he brought to his character that made it so memorable.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Kick): Many thought the best thing about 'Kick' was Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Even though he was seen in the second half of the film as Shiv Gajra, he made the most of his appearance.
Riteish Deshmukh (Ek Villain):Ritesh Deshmukh gave a compelling performance in 'Ek Villain'. By playing a frustrated middle-class Rakesh in the film, he proved it isn't too tough for him to step out of his comfort zone.
