A lot has been discussed, shared and written about actor Aamir Khan’s recent comment on the ‘rising tolerance’ in India. In an exclusive interview to CNN IBN, Shah Rukh Khan stated that it isn’t necessary for anybody to prove his patriotism. While speaking to the channel, he said, “You don't have to be proving your patriotism in any other way, except for thinking good for the country and doing good. You have to work for the benefit of the country. If I work for the country in the most kindest way in what I am good at, my country is going to benefit from that. But if I am corrupt, and regional about it, I will be harming my country."
While many known names from the showbiz industry decided to take a stand on the ongoing intolerance row, and a few even trolled the actor, ‘Hate Story 3’ star cast Sharman Joshi, Karan Singh Grover, Daisy Shah felt sticking to an expected ‘no comments’ stance and sharing their perspectives, but in a diplomatic way was the easiest way to deal with the media questions.
On being asked for her opinion during a recent press conference in Delhi, Daisy said, “It depends on how much strength you’ve to tolerate what’s happening around you. The time you think you can’t tolerate anymore, just give it back.”
Karan Singh Grover remained firm on his decision to not comment on Aamir's statement on rising intolerance.
Sharman, who had referred to a recent debate of Raju Hirani and Javed Akhtar as a key session to understand the impact of growing intolerance, urged everyone to watch it, but didn’t show any inhibitions in stating that he himself doesn’t have a clear understanding of the issue. “As far as I’m concerned, I don’t really want to get into it because I don’t really have a clean and clear understanding of all that is happening. I think it is too sensitive and I don’t want to pass a comment which is not too responsible,” he said.
