Jenna Ortega And Glen Powell To Team Up For JJ Abrams' New Warner Bros Film?
Jenna Ortega is reportedly in final talks to join J.J. Abrams’ untitled movie at Warner Bros.

Jenna Ortega is reportedly in talks to star in an upcoming Warner Bros. film directed by J.J. Abrams. The Wednesday actor is set to star alongside Glen Powell, who is currently finalizing his contract. While details about Abrams’ new project remain scarce, it has been confirmed that, contrary to earlier rumours, it will not involve time travel. Abrams will be directing and writing the screenplay and the film will be produced by Abrams and his production company, Bad Robot.

According to Deadline, the film will not be a time-travel story. Last year, Empire reported that Warner Bros. and Abrams’ production company are collaborating to bring Stephen King’s Billy Summers to the big screen. Given the current secrecy surrounding the potential Abrams film starring Powell and Ortega, it’s entirely possible that this project and the King adaptation are two separate endeavours.

Though Abrams has not yet announced a filming schedule for this movie, we still have a lot to anticipate from both of its possible artists as we wait for word that Powell and Ortega have inked contracts.

Powell-starrer Twisters, which is currently running in theatres, has minted $270 million at the global box office so far. He is also all set to play the lead role in Edgar Wright’s Running Man adaptation.

The Top Gun: Maverick star is additionally working on Huntington, an A24 loose version of Kind Hearts and Coronets. He is also working on reimagining Heaven Can Wait for Paramount Pictures.

On the other hand, Ortega will be back for Wednesday’s second season. With over 250 million views worldwide, the Wednesday series is the most-watched Netflix series ever.

She is also set to feature in the Sony/3000 Pictures film Klara and the Sun, directed by Taika Waititi. The film centres on a robot girl created to combat loneliness, who sets out to help a bereaved human family.

Additionally, Ortega has the A24 film Death of a Unicorn directed by Alex Scharfman. The film centres on a father-daughter duo who, after hitting a unicorn with their vehicle, take it to the ultra-wealthy pharmaceutical CEO’s wilderness resort.
