Jeremy Renner recently shared alarming footage and images of the Davis Fire, which came dangerously close to his home near Lake Tahoe on Sunday, September 8. In an earlier interview in August, Renner confirmed that his primary residence is in Nevada. The Avengers actor took to Instagram to show the fast-approaching wildfire that forced him to evacuate his property near Reno, Nevada. He posted a photo showing thick smoke covering the mountains and captioned it “evacuated” along with several prayer hand emojis. Renner also tagged the location as Reno Tahoe and added a fire emoji to his post.

One of the photos clicked from his driveway, revealed huge clouds of smoke and flames near his home. A fire truck was visible, stationed at his property.

Renner reportedly confirmed that both he and others were safely evacuated as the Davis Fire prompted a state of emergency, leading to the evacuation of 14,000 people in Washoe County.

“When the wind shifts, it’s either really good or really bad,” Renner wrote in another shot of the wildfire.

The 53-year-old actor assured his followers that he and others had safely evacuated. Over a picture of local firefighters from Washoe County, Renner wrote, “Everyone is evacuated and safe. Now for Mother Nature,” and thanked the emergency crews for their hard work. He tagged Truckee Meadows Firefighters in his post.

Renner also shared two videos, one showing a plane dropping red fire retardant over burning trees, and another of a fire truck driving past a large cloud of smoke moving toward the road.

On X, he posted, “Reno Tahoe fires. Real close to our community. Stay safe out there.”

The Davis Fire reportedly destroyed 14 structures and burned 6,500 acres. Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo declared a state of emergency on September 8, informing, “This afternoon, I declared a state of emergency due to the Davis Fire. State agencies are working diligently to support local partners as we mitigate and eliminate this fire together.”

The wind-driven fire forced the evacuation of thousands in Washoe County, and as of Sunday night, the blaze remained 0% contained. Meanwhile, California is dealing with 14 active wildfires, including one in the San Bernardino Mountains that has burned over 20,000 acres.
