Kangana Ranaut was among the many stars who made their way to the theatres to watch Raazi in 2018. The spy film, directed by Meghna Gulzar, starred Alia Bhatt in the lead and surpassed Rs 100 crore at the box office back then. Kangana had watched the film a few days after its release and had praised Alia Bhatt’s performance. In a video shared on YouTube at the time, Kangana interacted with the media gathered outside the theatre and called Alia the queen.
“I really liked Raazi. A splendid job by Meghna Gulzar,” Kangana told the media. She added, “I have no words (for Alia), she is so good. Meghna and Alia had called me for a trial (preview) but I couldn’t attend it because I was shooting at the time. But I promised them that I would see it soon.” “She is the crowned queen, undisputed queen most definitely. It’s Alia’s world and we are just living in it,” Kangana said.

A clip from this interaction has resurfaced on Reddit. The clip quickly went viral on the microblogging site and netizens recalled the falling out between the two actresses. After the release of Manikarnika, Kangana claimed that while she was present to support other actresses’ films, she was not given the same courtesy.
Calling out Alia Bhatt, Kangana told Pinkvilla back then, “These girls send me their trailers like Alia sent me the trailer of Raazi and said, ‘Please watch it’. For me, it was not a Karan Johar film or Alia film, for me, it was a film on Sehmat Khan, the girl who has given her everything to the country.” Kangana added that she spoke to Alia and Meghna Gulzar “for half-an-hour” after she watched Raazi but when it was their turn to support her, “there was no response from anyone”.
“After Tanu Weds Manu, I have had so many trials (exclusive preview shows), they would just not come. But when it comes to them, they call me shamelessly, I even sort of cancel my shoots and make sure I attend them. Now, I have stopped because it’s getting too much,” Kangana added.
