The heartwarming family drama, Raghu Thatha, headlined by Keerthy Suresh is all set to grace the OTT screens. The film received an immense positive response from the audience in theatres and now with its release on OTT, it might receive more love. Raghu Thatha will be streaming on ZEE 5 from September 13 and will be available in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada languages. In an interview, Keerthy Suresh shared, “I am delighted to portray a courageous character who stands up for what she believes in Raghu Thatha. Bringing life to that role was a challenge. I am happy that this captivating story is reaching global audiences through ZEE 5.” At the same event, the film’s producer Vijay Kiragandur also expressed his thrill upon partnering with the OTT platform and shared that the film is a visual treat and an emotional journey that will reach everyone through the online platform. He called it a “special project” as it is sensitive, has humour and highlights social issues.
For Director Suman Kumar, Raghu Thatha is an “unforgettable journey” and believes that it has already captivated audiences who watched it in theatres and upon streaming on OTT will break regional barriers and help everyone connect with it. He said, “We aimed to entertain and spark meaningful discussions about language politics and gender roles. I’m excited to see how audiences connect with the story.”
Raghu Thatha is bankrolled by Hombale Films, which has previously produced Salaar and KGF. Directed by Suman Kumar, the film narrated the story of Kayalvizhi, portrayed by Keerthy Suresh. She is shown to be a strong-willed woman who has to navigate through the language politics, gender stereotypes and much more in the modern society of India. The film’s visuals left the audience in awe as Yamini Yagnamurthy cranked the camera. The apt soundtracks that captivated the cine-goers was handled by Sean Roldan. It created an immersive experience which may have been the result of its success.
