Vedang Raina is gearing up for his film Jigra’s release on October 11 alongside Alia Bhatt. Ahead of the release, the makers of Jigra hosted a special screening in Mumbai which was attended by several popular faces of the industry. The guest list included Karan Johar, Neetu Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt, Akansha Ranjan and Radhika Madan. Among the attendees was Vedang’s rumoured girlfriend Khushi Kapoor who showed up for the premiere wearing a Jigra T-shirt.
Several pictures of Vedang and Khushi surfaced on social media from the premiere. Speculations about the duo dating each other surfaced ever since the release of their debut film The Archies. However, neither of the two have accepted their relationship. The actress showed her support for the film by sporting a Jigra-themed T-shirt that she paired with blue jeans.
Meanwhile, talking about the film, backed by Karan Johar, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given Jigra a U/A certificate and it has a run time of 155 minutes (2 hours 35 minutes).
The trailer of Jigra garnered much appreciation from the audience. It begins with Alia Bhatt’s character receiving a late-night call, informing her that her brother, Ankur (played by Vedang Raina), has been arrested. She asks him whether he has done anything wrong and if his blood tests will come back clean. Ankur is subsequently seen in a courtroom in a foreign country, unable to understand the language as he is brought into custody. Determined to save her brother, Alia embarks on a mission to bring her brother back from jail at any cost.
The film set to release tomorrow will face a clash with Rajkumar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s comedy film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
Meanwhile, Khushi Kapoor is expected to be seen in a romantic film with Aamir Khan’s son Junaid. Helmed by Advait Chandan, known for Laal Singh Chaddha, the film will reportedly hit the theatres in February 2025. Reportedly, she has also wrapped another film with Ibrahim Ali Khan which also features Kajol.
