Deepika Padukone is expecting her first child with Ranveer Singh. Deepika continued to work during her pregnancy and is currently busy promoting her upcoming film, Kalki 2898 AD. At the film’s pre-release event recently, Deepika’s co-star Kamal Haasan said that her child will become a filmmaker, like Nag Ashwin.
Deepika recalled how Nag Ashwin called her to tell her about Kamal Haasan’s first shot with child-like enthusiasm. She said, “I was in Bombay. It was a long break because we were shooting in different schedules. I hadn’t heard from him in a while. I see this missed call from Nagi and I wondered what happened. He said, ‘I just called to tell you we shot our first day with Kamal sir.’ She further said, “Like a child.”
Kamal Haasan said, “That’s what made this film. That child. We hope this child (Deepika’s child) will also make a film someday.” This left everyone including Deepika in splits.
Kalki 2898 AD is soon going to be released in cinemas on June 27. The film has generated quite a buzz for itself due to its world-building and stellar star cast which includes Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani among others.
At the event in Mumbai, Kamal also spoke about playing Yaskin in the film. He said he spent a sizable amount of time with director Nag Ashwin to come up with the look for the film. Kamal will be seen opposite Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the film.
“I was mourning to Amit ji backstage that I always wanted to play the bad man. The bad man gets to do all the good things in films. Where the heroes are singing romantic songs and waiting for the heroine, I thought I was going to play the bad man so it is going to be fun. (Nag) wanted it to be different so I am almost like a sage with a bad idea,” Kamal said.
The film will be released in theatres on July 27.
