Mukhya Gamanika Review: Viran Muttamsetty-starrer An Engaging Crime Thriller
Rajashekar Lokam and Saikrishna Lokam have jointly produced Mukhya Gamanika under the banner of Shivin Productions.

Actor Viran Muttamsetty’s latest film Mukhya Gamanika directed by Venu Muralidhar Vadnala released at the cinema halls on February 23. Starring Setty alongside Lavannya Sahukara, Mukhya Gamanika has garnered positive reviews since its release. News18 Telugu has called this film an “engaging crime thriller”.

For those who don’t know, Muttamsetty is the cousin of Allu Arjun and has made his debut as the male lead with Mukhya Gamanika. Rajashekar Lokam and Saikrishna Lokam have jointly produced this movie under the banner of Shivin Productions. Mukhya Gamanika was released amidst a good buzz generated by its impressive teaser and trailer.

The narrative of Mukhya Gamanika begins with the story of a police constable named Viran (Viran Muttamsetty), the son of a circle inspector. In a traumatic turn of events, Viran’s father is murdered mysteriously and he is driven to uncover the truth behind it. As the investigation unfolds, many other police officers are also killed. Viran decides to leave no stone unturned to solve these cases.

In this process, Viran’s character also faces a case named RJ Missing Case, which he had not solved on the day of his father’s demise. How did Viran miss the case? Was his wife the reason behind it? What is the link between Viran’s father’s assassination and RJ’s missing case? Will Viran finally crack the mystery behind the murders and apprehend the killer? These questions form the core theme of the storyline.

Viran Muttamsetty has zeroed in on a good plot but fails to deliver a remarkable performance as an actor. He looks slightly convincing in the scenes where he is shown investigating the killings. It is the actress Lavannya Sahukara who earns accolades from critics and audiences for her impeccable acting skills. Other actors like Aryan Ippili, Chitram Basha, and others also got good screen time and acted brilliantly.

Venu Muralidhar has penned a gripping storyline that connects well with the audience. This film has all the elements of a crime thriller which makes it an entertaining watch. Venu Muralidhar has managed to successfully intertwine two crime elements in a single story. The music composed by Kiran Venna feels unnecessary while Venu Muralidhar’s cinematography is quite impressive. The visuals are good but the editing should have been more slick.
