National Film Awards: Pritam Wins Big For Brahmastra's Kesariya, Proud Ayan Mukerji Films It On Phone | Watch
Brahmastra won multiple awards, including Best Male Playback Singer for Arijit Singh’s hit song Kesariya, Best Film in Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC), and Best VFX Film.

President Droupadi Murmu led the 70th National Film Awards ceremony today, October 8, 2024, at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, where she honoured the winners for their contributions to Indian cinema. Among the highlights, she presented the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award to veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, celebrating his decades-long career.

President Murmu also awarded Rishab Shetty the Best Actor award for Kantara, while Nithya Menen and Manasi Parekh shared the Best Actress title for Thiruchitrambalam and Kutch Express. The Best Feature Film award went to Aattam, while Gulmohar was named Best Hindi Film. The President celebrated the diversity and achievements of Indian cinema across multiple languages and regions during the ceremony​.

Ayan Mukerji and Karan Johar celebrated as Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva scored big at the ceremony. The film won multiple awards, including Best Male Playback Singer for Arijit Singh’s hit song “Kesariya,” Best Film in Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC), and Best VFX Film. Ayan was seen capturing these big moments on his phone, especially when Pritam took the stage to accept his award. Both Ayan and Karan looked proud as they clapped for their team’s accomplishments.

Karan Johar spoke on the red carpet alongside Ayan Mukerji. Their appearance put to rest rumours of a fallout that had circulated on social media last year. At the ceremony, Brahmastra won several awards, including Best Film in AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) and Best VFX Film. Karan Johar spoke to the media, highlighting that he attended to support his team​.

He said, “I’m truly honored and humbled to be here. I can’t take credit for the special VFX and all as it’s Ayan Mukerji’s vision and effort. This project is his brainchild, and I’m simply here to support my team and stand by them with gratitude.”

Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Brahmastra also featured Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, and Nagarjuna Akkineni in key roles.
