We are in the age of extensive marketing and large scale promotion of movies. Some movies enter into production quietly, without making much noise and manage to do well at the box office due to good content. A new multi-starrer movie is keeping it low-key. The Kannada film features actors like Chikkanna, Anish Tejeshwar, Gurunandan, and Rangayana Raghu. Directed by Chandramohan, who is known for his two films Double Engine and Brahmachari, this project brings together these four stars in one frame. The film is aptly titled Forest. The film’s 80 percent shooting has been done, reportedly amid the wilderness. The shoot has almost neared completion with just two songs remaining to be shot, according to reports. The team unveiled the title of the film, along with a poster, on April 17.
Chandramohan revealed in an interview that the film is poised to be an adventurous comedy primarily set in a forest. “Combining elements of adventure, comedy, and thrilling drama, we’ve filmed in various locations such as Madikere, Chikmagalur, MM Hills, and Bengaluru,” he explains.
Forest, produced by NM Kantharaj under the NMK Cinemas banner, stars Arachana Kottige and Sharanya Shetty as the female leads, with Avinash playing a crucial role. Suraj Pops, known for his role in Rajinikanth’s Jailer, will make his Kannada debut in Forest as the main antagonist. Ravikumar is the cinematographer for the film, while the music will be composed by Dharmavish and Veer Samarth. Kantharaj will be making his production debut with the movie and Forest will be the maiden venture of his newly established NMK Cinemas Banner.
Forest will mark comic actor Chikkanna’s second film as a lead protagonist after this year’s Upadhyaksha. Prior to Upadhyaksha, Chikkanna used to play supporting roles, providing the comic relief element in the story. The film’s release date has not been revealed by the makers. More official details regarding the film are still awaited.
