India achieved its first medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. The historic win is being celebrated by everyone including Bollywood celebrities. Preity Zinta and Taapsee Pannu also joined everyone and congratulated shooter Manu Bhaker, who clinched a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Preity Zinta shared Manu’s photo and wrote, “Congratulations @bhakermanu on winning the first medal for India in #olympics2024 #bronzemedal #shooting #parisolympics2024 #JaiHind #ting.” Taapsee also shared the photo and wrote, “Opening our Olympic medal tally account with a bronze!!! Congratulations to this fantastic shooter.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the shooter and wrote, “A historic medal! Well done, @realmanubhaker, for winning India’s FIRST medal at #ParisOlympics2024! Congrats for the Bronze. This success is even more special as she becomes the 1st woman to win a medal in shooting for India. An incredible achievement!,”
Alia Bhatt, too, took to Instagram to congratulate Manu Bhaker.
Manu Bhaker became the fifth shooter after Abhinav Bindra, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Vijay Kumar and Gagan Narang to win an Olympic medal in shooting. India today reported that Manu Bhaker and Kim Yeji were shooting for the second spot in the final elimination round. Manu showcased incredible grit as she shot 10.1 and 10.3 in her last two shots. Despite Kim shooting just 9.7 and 9.8, she managed to finish ahead of Manu.
In April, she announced the beginning of the shoot Taking to her official Instagram account, Preity posted the pics and wrote: “On set for Lahore 1947,” accompanied by ‘new movie’ and ‘shooting’ hashtags. ‘Lahore 1947’ is being produced by Aamir Khan. Preity Zinta and Sunny Deol have previously collaborated on multiple films like Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Farz and Bhaiyaji Superhit. Sunny Deol made his grand comeback last year with Gadar 2. The film became a massive blockbuster at the box office.
