Bollywood’s legendary villain Prem Chopra, best known for his unforgettable dialogue in Bobby – “Prem naam hai mera, Prem Chopra” – recently shared a fun train journey story with Bollywood Bubble. Fans at every station forced the fast train to stop, demanding he mouth his famous dialogue.

The thrilled crowds got their live performance at each stop, proving Prem’s villainous charm was unbeatable! “People got to know that I was in this train. Even though it was a fast train, they had to stop it at every station because every station had so much crowd and they requested me to say this dialogue at every station. They said the crowd won’t let the train move so please say this dialogue at every station. This went on through the train journey,” the veteran actor recalled.

Prem Chopra revealed that when he was offered his iconic role in Bobby, Raj Kapoor kept him in the dark. The legendary director didn’t share any details until Chopra was on set. espite repeatedly asking about his part, Kapoor would just say, ‘Batayenge (I’ll tell you).’ If you asked him at night, he would be drunk and say ‘arey yaar batayenge, tumhe bol diya batayenge’,” recalled Chopra.

When Prem Chopra got to the shoot in Pune, he found out he had just one line in the film and had doubts. “I had a reservation before doing this role. I said that I am working in films with Yash Chopra, BR Chopra and Shakti Samantha where I am getting the role that is just as important as the lead actor. I hope I don’t get to a place where they also start offering me guest appearances,” he said.

Some of his most notable films include “Bobby” (1973), “Do Raaste” (1969), and “Kati Patang” (1970). Despite often portraying antagonists, Prem Chopra’s real-life persona is said to be quite the opposite, marked by his affability and professionalism. Over the years, he has received several awards and accolades for his contributions to Indian cinema, securing his legacy as one of Bollywood’s legendary actors.
