Ajay Devgn will be soon starting the shoot of his next film De De Pyaar De 2. It is one of the most highly anticipated awaited sequels. Well, a fresh update has come in that the actor will be facing R Madhvan in the film. Yes, you are reading right. Pinkvilla has exclusively reported. He will be playing a key role in the film.
“Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan had a horrific face-off in Shaitaan, and now, come 2025, the duo will again lock horns in De De Pyaar De 2. However, this time around, their on-screen chemistry will have a complete makeover, as the face-off will have a lot of comic undertones,” revealed a source close to the development.
According to the source, Madhavan is also seeing De De Pyaar De 2 as a welcome change in his intense filmography. “Madhavan has not delved into a light-hearted rom-com since the Tanu Weds Manu Franchise and he readily embraced the opportunity to come on board DDPD 2. The makers are bringing in a fresh energy to the film, and both the leading men are excited for this face off in the sequel to 2018 romantic comedy,” the source added.
In March, T series Officially announced about the film and mentioned the release date. “De De Pyaar De 2 will release on 1st May 2025. The film is directed by @anshul3112, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Luv Ranjan & @gargankur82 and written by @tarun.j.85 & Luv Ranjan,” the announcement reads.
The report also mentioned that De De Pyaar De 2 goes on floors in June 2024, once Ajay Devgn wraps up shooting for Singham Again and Raid 2.
De De Pyaar De also starred Tabu in the lead role. It revolves around the star of a 50-year-old Ashish (played by Ajay), a divorcee who falls for 26-year-old Ayesha (played by Rakul). In the film, Tabu plays Ajay’s ex-wife. The story sheds light on the backlash Ajay faces for falling in love with a girl the age of his kids, and the complexities that come with it.
It is worth mentioning here that R Madhavan and Ajay Devgn have worked together in Shaitaan. It was released in March this year.
