Rangisari Singers Kavita Seth And Kanishk Seth Are Here With Their New Track, Zakhm Purana

The celebrated mother-son duo of Kavita Seth and Kanishk Seth, the voices behind the popular JugJugg Jeeyo track Rangisari, are back with their latest song. Titled Zakhm Purana, the heart-wrenching song was dropped on Tuesday, May 7. Prior to its release, the singer shared a sorrowful poster on Instagram and wrote, “The scars of an old love that refuses to heal." Bringing a painful story to life, the song visualises the challenges of overcoming heartbreak, trauma and memories from the past.

“An old wound that lost love has left behind, with bruises that are still tender and scars that don’t seem to heal," Seth wrote on Instagram. In a special mention, the singer shared gratitude for his mother and wrote, “And as always super gratitude to my purana partner."

Directed by Pankhuri Ranjan, Zakhm Purana has been produced by the House of EO2 EXP. With lyrics penned by Jagdish Prakash, the beautiful music video features Vidushi Kaul and Rudraksh Thakur. It has been composed and sung by both Kavita Seth and Kanishk Seth.

According to the song’s synopsis, Zakhm Purana evokes “deep feelings of melancholic nostalgia, a feeling of falling headfirst into a wormhole of past memories, causing an emotional whirlwind so intense that it starts affecting your present. It’s stifling, it’s suffocating – as if you’re trapped in a nightmare, unable to break free." The video truly explores all these emotions while also showing the contrast between a happy past with an unhappy present.
