Noted playback singer Shreya Ghoshal feels that filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has a "Midas touch" and he does not believe in doing things the simple way.
"It is a dream come true to be a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. He has a Midas touch. He doesn't do anything that is ordinary. I was excited when this offer ('Bajirao Mastani') came to me," Shreya told PTI in an interview here.
"I was very happy when the offer came to me. I know how important is 'Bajirao Mastani' to Sanjay sir. He was living with these characters for a long time," she said.
Shreya was 16 when she was first caught Bhansali's attention on singing reality show. She made her Bollywood playback singing debut with his romantic drama "Devdas" (2002) for which she received a National Award and a Filmfare Award.
Heaping praise on her mentor, the 31-year-old "Manwa Laage" crooner further said, "He is an encyclopedia of good music. He creates magic. He is humble and genius. He is a dedicated, passionate person and believes in perfection. So all those who work with him, including the actors, believe in giving their best. He gets the best out of everyone."
Post "Devdas", Shreya teamed up with Bhansali for "Saawariya" and his last blockbuster "Ram Leela". In his upcoming project "Bajirao Mastani", she has sung songs -"Deewani Mastani", "Mohe Rang Do Laal" and "Pinga".
"'Deewani Mastani' was the last song to be recorded.
It was a challenge for me to get this song right. It has turned out beautifully. I remember, he told me I would be very happy looking at the way the song would come out on screen," Shreya said.
"When I saw the song I got goose bumps. The song looks very beautiful, it sounds poetic. Heroines in his films have always looked pretty and Deepika looks beautiful in the song," she said.
