As the highly anticipated crime thriller Sector 36, starring Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal, got released on Friday, the excitement has been amplified with the drop of its electrifying soundtrack. Directed by Aditya Nimbalkar and produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films, Sector 36’s four-track album is making waves for its intense, emotional, and contemporary soundscapes, mirroring the film’s gripping narrative. The album promises to draw listeners deep into the world of high-stakes crime, mystery, and power, setting the stage for what’s to come.
The first track, Dumroo, featuring Mohit Chauhan and Anupam Amod with composition by Dhunkey, was released earlier this week to an overwhelming response. With its thunderous beats and devotional chants, Dumroo has already captivated audiences, providing a taste of the intense energy that flows through the entire album.
Following Dumroo, the track Saaya, composed, produced, and sung by Kanishk Seth, delves into the film’s tension-filled atmosphere. The haunting lyrics by Yashwardhan Goswami complement the suspenseful tone of the track. Another standout, Maan Kafira, sung by Amit Mishra and composed by Gourav Dasgupta with lyrics by Farhan Memon, taps into the rebellious spirit and emotional conflicts central to the film. Rounding off the album is Ruan, sung by the ethereal Kamakshi Khanna with additional vocals by Savera. The track, composed and produced by OAFF and Savera, and penned by Sameer Rahat, explores themes of fear, inner turmoil, and quiet strength.
Speaking about his experience creating Saaya, Kanishk Seth said, “Composing this song gave me the space to explore a meditative yet modern sound, reflecting an inner search for meaning. It resonates with the film’s suspense and intense emotions, and I hope it speaks to every listener.”
On their track Ruan, OAFF and Savera shared, “With ‘Ruan,’ we wanted to capture vulnerability’s quiet strength. Kamakshi’s voice brought that to life, and Sameer Rahat’s evocative lyrics enhanced the atmosphere of the film. We hope the track connects deeply with listeners.”
Directed by debutant filmmaker ‘Aditya Nimbalkar’, ‘Sector 36’ takes viewers on a gripping journey, tracing the transformation of Inspector Ram Charan Pandey (played by Deepak Dobriyal) from a complacent officer into a determined hunter when justice becomes personal. Set against the backdrop of Sector 36, the trailer sets the stage for an intense, high-stakes investigation as Ram Charan races against time to save the lives of missing children while navigating the dangers of a serial killer on the loose.
At the center of the plot is the enigmatic ‘Prem Singh’ (portrayed by Vikrant Massey), a terrifying and layered character who hides in plain sight. The dynamic between the two leads drives the tension, as Ram Charan’s pursuit of Prem evolves into a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
The storyline of ‘Sector 36’ is inspired by real-life events, adding an unsettling layer of realism to the already tense narrative. Through its exploration of crime, class disparity, and social neglect, the film sheds light on how evil can thrive in environments where justice is left unchecked.
The News18 Showsha review of the film reads, “The exceptional writing is further elevated by stellar performances from Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal. Vikrant delivers a chilling portrayal of the unstable, maniacal Prem, bringing immense terror and rage to the screen. His performance is a standout, playing a character who embodies a murderer, rapist, necrophile and cannibal, all in one. Vikrant fully immerses himself in the role, making it one of the finest performances of his career, comparable to his turn in 12th Fail. Deepak Dobriyal, as Ram, complements him perfectly, portraying the transformation from a laid-back cop to a driven reformer, determined to bring Prem to justice.”
