Kolkata Knight Riders have clinched the IPL 2024 trophy after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final match which was held in Chennai. The owner of the team, Shah Rukh Khan who had flown down to the coastal city with his family was captured celebrating by planting a kiss on Gauri Khan’s head.
As soon as KKR emerged victorious, the stadium camera captured Shah Rukh Khan hugging his wife Gauri in an endearing gesture, followed by a kiss on her head. King Khan then proceeded to celebrate with people around him. The video soon went viral on social media.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was in Chennai to attend the IPL 2024 finale between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) that KKR won. This appearance came just days after Shah Rukh was hospitalised for heat stroke and dehydration.
He was seen at the stands, along with daughter Suhana Khan, sons Aryan and AbRam and wife Gauri Khan. Manager and constant support, Pooja Dadlani, was also present. Besides Shah Rukh Khan and his family, Suhana’s best friends – Ananya Panday and Shanaya Kapoor- were also seen in the stands, rooting for KKR.
SRK’s presence suggested that he has fully recovered and is ready to support his team, much like what KKR co-owner Juhi Chawla had earlier exclusively told News18. The Badshah of Bollywood wore a purple tee and Gauri wore the KKR jersey. Shah Rukh Khan, having recently recovered from the heat stroke, wore a mask. He also sported a round, spot band-aid plaster on his right hand, possibly an area where the Intravenous Cannula was inserted.
The Kolkata franchise dominated the IPL 2024 season without a doubt. With 9 wins, 3 losses, and 1 no-result, KKR showed remarkable consistency throughout the group stage, excelling in both batting and bowling. Their strong performance continued into the playoffs, with a commanding 8-wicket victory over SRH and a repeat performance in the final.
Right before the finale, Shah Rukh was hospitalised for heat stroke and dehydration. But he made a comeback and how! He was in the stands for the finale, cheering his team on. As KKR won by 8 wickets, SRK was ecstatic. He hugged and kissed Gauri and shook hands with everyone in the VVIP box. Removing his mask, he put on his sunglasses in celebration.
