Tamil television channels have managed to generate a loyal fan base for themselves. This is primarily because of the numerous serials airing daily on these channels. While all the serials have their fan base, only a handful of them manage to secure their position in the list of top daily soaps with maximum Television Rating Points (TRP). With so many channels striving to secure the top spot in TRP ratings, the competition is tougher than ever. The list of the top 6 most-watched serials across various Tamil TV channels has been unveiled. Let’s take a look:
Topping the TRP charts, Singapenne from Sun TV emerges as the most-watched serial. It has secured first place with a remarkable rating of 11.01. Earning a remarkable rating of 10.34, Kayal slipped down to second position. Kayal also airs on Sun TV. While these two managed to be at the top, Vaanathai Pola came closer to them and claimed the third spot with a rating of 9.98.
Stepping closer to the top 3, Ethir Neechal occupied the fourth rank by scoring a good rating of 9.79. Sundari, another Sun TV serial, maintained its place to secure the fifth spot with a rating of 8.56. Sitting comfortably at the sixth position is Sirakkadikka Aasai on Star Vijay which has climbed higher by garnering a rating of 8.27.
The TRP ratings define the number of viewership that the serials are garnering. The reflection of the popularity of the serials through these ratings further fuels competition among TV channels as they compete with each other to secure the top positions by introducing new serials and bringing twists and turns to already airing shows.
The battle for viewership supremacy is considered healthy as it encourages the entertainment industry to keep working towards captivating its audience and churning out new content for them to watch and enjoy, while sitting on their couches. Needless to mention, as per the above TRP list, Sun TV claimed the top spot as far as the top channel is considered.
