Sonakshi Sinha-Zaheer Iqbal Wedding: Richa Chadha SLAMS Trolls, Says 'Buri Nazar Wale Tera Muh Faltoo'
Richa Chadha, Sonakshi Sinha's co-star from Heeramandi and herself part of an inter-faith marriage with Ali Fazal, shared her thoughts on the wedding.

Sonakshi Sinha wed Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, 2024, in a private ceremony at her residence in Bandra. However, following their marriage, Sonakshi faced criticism and trolling for their inter-faith union. In response, a protest march was organised in Patna, Bihar, the hometown of her father, Shatrughan Sinha, by the fringe group Hindu Shiv Bhawani Sena, labeling the marriage as ‘love jihad’ and urging Sonakshi to refrain from visiting the city. Reacting to these events, Richa Chadha, Sonakshi’s co-star from ‘Heeramandi’ and herself part of an inter-faith marriage with Ali Fazal, shared her thoughts.

Richa Chadha read, “Dear Sona and Zaheer! I am floored by your simplicity, your commitment to each other and am so damn happy that you dance to your own tune! didn’t get a photo with you cuz you were swamped, but Ali and I love you, your spirit! (sic). Love you enough to brave crowds in month 9! LOL. You make an amazing jodi (pair). And buri nazar wale tera muh faltoo (And to those with an evil eye, your face is worthless). Love you both. Thanks for a GREAT party, and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!!! @aslisona and iamzahero (sic).”

Meanwhile, reacting to the trolls, Shatrughan Sinha has urged everyone to stop spreading hate. He asked trolls to ‘get a life’ and strongly stated that his daughter hasn’t done anything illegal. “Anand Bakshi saab has written about such professional protestors, ‘Kucch to log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna. To this I would like to add, ‘Kehne waale agar bekar, bekaam-kaaj ke ho to kehna hi kaam ban jata hai (For unemployed people, this is all the work they have).’ My daughter has done nothing illegal or unconstitutional,” he told Times Now.

“A wedding is a very personal decision between two people; no one has the right to interfere or comment. To all the protestors I say – go, get a life. Do something useful with your life. Aur kucch nahi kehna (I have nothing else to say),” the veteran actor added.

What's your reaction?
