Taapsee Pannu Reveals She Was 'Brought Into Bollywood' Due To Resemblance With Preity Zinta
Taaspee Pannu said that she has since tried to live up to Preity Zinta's reputation.

Actress Taapsee Pannu made her Bollywood debut with the 2013 David Dhawan directorial venture, Chashme Baddoor. In a recent chat, she revealed that she was “brought” into the Hindi film industry due to her resemblance with Preity Zinta. As such, she has tried to be like Preity Zinta as much as she could.

Taapsee recently appeared on Shikhar Dhawan’s show, Dhawan Karenge, and said, “I was first brought into Bollywood because I share a resemblance with Preity Zinta. She has a very positive energy, and you know it well.”

“I felt like I had to live up to her reputation as I was brought into the industry because of her name. So, I always put in an effort to be like her,” she added. Taapsee also praised Preity and called her “lively and intelligent”.

Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu secretly tied the knot with Danish badminton coach, Mathias Boe in Udaipur earlier this year. In a recent interview, Taapsee spoke about how she fell in love with Mathias.

“I think the fact that he is an athlete and someone who had won at the Olympics for a start… half the job was done there (laughs),” Taapsee told Cosmopolitan India. “I have always been very impressed and in awe of athletes who play for their country and play under extreme pressure without getting affected… It was not like a love-at-first-sight situation, for me at least—I took time to test if it’s really practical… the feasibility of the relationship was important for me.”

Taapsee continued, I was obviously fond of him and respected him, and we kept meeting and I grew to love him. So falling in love didn’t happen in a month or instantly. It is a fact though, which I keep repeating in most interviews about him—when I met him I felt like I met a man. I had dated so many boys before him, and suddenly, I met a guy who didn’t feel like anyone I’d been with before. So there’s this sudden sense of security and maturity, which was so evident that I felt like ‘Okay, you’ve finally found the man’.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Taapsee Pannu was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She will next be seen in Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba, a sequel to her popular thriller film, Haseen Dilruba.
