heo James was formerly a musician, but he gave it up, especially after a repulsive experience. On Thursday’s edition of Kelly Clarkson’s talk show, he reflected on some of his worst on-stage moments as a performer. During his time as a singer and guitarist of the now-defunct London-based band Shere Khan, The White Lotus alum had to “deal with a bottle of urine”.
He said to Clarkson, “I wanted to be a rockstar.”
He went on to tell about a specific performance in which, while performing with a band, he was “pelted with a urine bottle”. At that moment, he claimed, he felt he ought to give something else a go.
When the American Idol alum understandably questioned Theo about what caused the awful moment, he said that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Divergent actor said, “It was a strange, sweaty, horrible gig.”
He continued by saying that because the previous act had been running late, everyone was feeling a little tipsy and irate. Someone thought it would be best to deal with the situation by throwing urine from a bottle at someone’s face.
However, Theo claims that was only one of many unfavourable experiences he had while performing, another being a regrettable injury that required him to take a brief break from the stage.
“I’ve had lots of things go wrong,” he added.
He mentioned an incident where he was on stage and his foot got trapped in an unstable piece of equipment. The actor was staring in the wrong direction, and the roller crushed his whole foot, he explained.
Theo James has been promoting Netflix’s The Gentlemen, an adaptation of Guy Ritchie’s 2019 movie of the identical name.
Eddie, the aristocratic character played by James, finds out that the family estate is home to a vast cannabis industry after inheriting it.
During his conversation about the action comedy on TODAY, Theo James also touched on his early years in music, stating that his initial musical ambition was to become a rock star.
He did, however, add that he went along with his girlfriend’s auditions for these acting schools at the time and that’s how things turned out.
