Triptii Dimri Opens Up On Exploring Comic Genre With Bad Newz: 'It Was Difficult'
Coming out of her comfort zone, Triptii Dimri will be soon seen in the romantic-comedy film Bad Newz alongside Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk.

Following the success of her last release with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, Triptii Dimri is clearly on a roll with back-to-back films in her kitty. Her latest flick to hit theatres is the upcoming romantic-comedy Bad Newz, co-starring Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk. Bad Newz is the sequel to the 2019 hit Good Newwz, featuring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. In what seems to be a love triangle, Bad Newz focuses on Triptii Dimri’s pregnancy and the chaos around the father of her child.

Prior to this, the actress was seen playing serious roles in films like Qala, Bulbul and Animal to say the least. After experimenting with a comic role for the first time, Triptii Dimri has opened up about the challenges that she faced. In an interaction with IANS, the actress admitted that she found comedy a “little difficult” at the beginning, but it was “really good” in a way.

“I have always done a lot of films in the drama genre, but I feel that as an actor, it is really important to keep doing different things and keep challenging yourself. I have found comedy a little difficult since the beginning. But in a way, it was really good for me,” she said.

Tripti further thanked her director Anand Tiwari for allowing her to explore a new genre. “It was more difficult for me, especially with Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk, as they are very talented and their comic timing is very good. It was difficult but a good learning experience,” the actress shared.

Triptii also expressed her wish to play more different roles in action, drama and comedy in the future.

Speaking about the film, Bad Newz is based on the rare concept of heteropaternal superfecundation, where Triptii’s character is pregnant with a child with two fathers. Backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, it will hit theatres on July 19.

Triptii Dimri’s Upcoming Projects

Known for playing dramatic roles in her career, Triptii took a major departure from her comfort zone and ventured into comedy with Bad Newz.

Following this, she has a series of releases ahead. The actress will star in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 opposite Kartik Aaryan and Vidya Balan. She also has Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Dhadak 2 and Animal Park in the pipeline.
