Watch: Triumph Teases Daytona 660 Again Ahead of Global Debut on January 9

The anticipation surrounding Triumph’s latest offering, the Daytona 660, continues to build as the iconic UK-based motorcycle manufacturer teases enthusiasts with a glimpse of its upcoming middleweight sports tourer.

Scheduled for a global premiere on January 9, the Daytona 660 replaces the outgoing Daytona Moto2 765, marking the next chapter in Triumph’s esteemed 660cc series.

In a short video shared across Triumph’s social media handles, the motorcycle can be partially seen. However, the standout feature of the teaser is the distinctive exhaust note that hints at the power and performance awaiting riders.

The Daytona 660 is set to captivate enthusiasts with its full-faired design, featuring a dual headlamp configuration and an aggressively sleek body. Adorning a unique 660 insignia, the motorcycle pays homage to the legendary style of previous Daytona models. A small Daytime Running Light (DRL) subtly tucked between the headlights adds a touch of contemporary flair to its original aggressive aspect, as reported by AutoX.

Powering the Daytona 660 is a robust 660 cc, three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, shared with its counterparts, the Trident 660 and the Tiger Sport 660.

The engine is expected to churn out approximately 80bhp and 64Nm of torque. The six-speed transmission, featuring a bi-directional quick-shifter, complements the engine’s unique tuning, enhancing responsiveness and adding an aggressive edge to its performance.

As expected from a Triumph motorcycle, the Daytona 660 is anticipated to feature high-performance components, including a Showa suspension system, Nissin brakes and stylish 17-inch alloy wheels. The teaser hints at improved handling and stability, thanks to a strengthened swingarm and a redesigned rear subframe.

The Daytona 660 is likely to boast two front discs and a single rear disc, along with advanced technologies such as ABS, ride-by-wire technology, complete LED illumination, traction control, numerous ride modes, and a quick shifter. These features ensure a well-rounded and technologically advanced riding experience.

Triumph has set the stage for the global premiere of the Daytona 660 on January 9. Once unleashed in the Indian motorbike market, the Daytona 660 will enter a competitive arena, facing formidable rivals like the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Honda CBR 650R.
