Amitabh Bachchan is celebrating his birthday today and wishes have been pouring in from all corners. Amid this, Anand Pandit has confirmed the sequel to the classic film Trishul. The sequel will see legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, who also starred in the original 1978 film alongside a stellar cast that included Rakhee, Shahi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar and Hema Malini.
Trishul, directed by Yash Chopra, is considered a landmark film in Indian cinema. Mid-Day issued a statement quoting Anand Pandit saying, “I have watched Trishul almost 60 times and it impacted me deeply when it was released. The story of a man who comes with nothing to a city and makes it big in the construction business inspired me immensely.”
Pandit also said that his ambition to make Trishul 2 is a long-cherished goal that has been shaped by Bachchan’s on-screen presence. “This will be my tribute to the man who began to influence my life even before he met me in person.” “Trishul 2 will narrate how life unfolded for Vijay after being accepted in the Gupta family. It would be fascinating to find out if he lived happily ever after with Geeta [Rakhee’s character], if his own family grew, and whether he was able to heal his wounds,” he was further quoted.
If things worked then Trishul 2 will mark Anand Pandit’s fifth collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan. They have previously worked together on films like Sarkar 3, Chehre, Fakt Mahilao Maate, and Fakt Purusho Maate.
Amitabh Bachchan is a towering presence in Bollywood. His good films have given the industry many reasons to be proud of – as he continues to perform in front of the camera with as much passion and professionalism as ever. On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan’s latest movie, Vettaiyan, has been released in cinemas. He is seen with Rajinikanth. He is also currently seen hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 16.
