Hema Malini and Dharmendra have been together since 1970s. The couple dated for a while before they got married in 1980. While the couple has kept their relationship private, Esha Deol once revealed that during one of Hema and Dharmendra’s romantic encounters, the veteran actress slept off. During an episode with The Kapil Sharma Show, Esha revealed that Hema was so tired that she was snoring through the phone.
The incident was revealed after Esha said that she and her mother are not people who enjoy being on the phone for too long. “Mom was talking to Papa. They were talking and talking and suddenly, Papa heard her snore,” Esha revealed, leaving everyone in splits.
Hema then clarified that she was on a call with him after a long shooting schedule. “See, what happened was that I was working for a very long time, I was working throughout the night. I think I was too tired. Pyaar bhari baatein bhi ek certain limit tak acha lagta hai na. After that you feel very boring,” she said, cracking up at her own confession. “Dharam ji sunenge toh unko kharaab lagega,” she sheepishly added.
Hema and Dharmendra first met in 1970 when they were shooting for their film Tum Haseen Main Jawaan. Fans loved their pairing. But when they decided to get married, even Hema’s parents were not in favour. However, life had some other planning and after so many difficulties they got married and welcomed two daughters — Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
On the work front, Hema Malini has not faced the camera in a long time now. She was last seen in Shimla Mirchi, which released in 2020. The actress is currently focused on her political career but often took the centre stage for Bharatanatyam performances. On the other hand, Dharmendra was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani last year.
