The BCCI announced the list of members who are part of a committee for the Women's Premier League.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the members who would form the committee as they aim to grow the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

The committee members have a wide range of experience and are passionate about women’s sports as they have a shared commitment to promote excellence in women’s cricket.

The committee members for the Women’s Premier League include Mr Roger Binny – Chairperson, Mr Jay Shah – Convenor, Mr Arun Dhumal – IPL Chairperson, Mr Rajeev Shukla – BCCI vice-president, Mr Ashish Shelar – BCCI Honorary Treasurer, Mr Devajit Saikia – BCCI Honorary Jt. Secretary, Mrs Madhumati Lele and Mr Prabhtej Bhatia.

As the Indian women’s team takes on the England women’s team in the second T20I at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, all eyes will also be on the auction for the second edition of the Women’s Premier League as well which will take place in December 9, 2023 as well.

A wide range of players are now up on the list of players who will go under the hammer and hope to see themselves picked up by the five franchises ahead of the second edition of the WPL which is expected to begin in between February and March in 2024.

Another notable development is that the tournament could be set for a multi-city format where sides will compete in different venues as well. This would allow the tournament to reach a wider audience with fans from different states looking to come and watch the women’s cricketing stars go against each other.
