In a recent Pinkvilla Masterclass, Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal shed light on his fascination with portraying Indian army characters in films. During the masterclass, Vicky expressed his enjoyment in wearing the Indian Army uniform for his roles, emphasizing that it provides him with unique opportunities to interact closely with army personnel. Contrary to their serious appearance, Kaushal revealed that those in the army are often whimsical and playful. For his role in Sam Bahadur, the actor lived with the Maratha Regiment near Pune for three days, where he enjoyed fun moments, parties, and engaging conversations with the soldiers.

Despite staying up late till 3 am, Vicky highlighted the discipline of army personnel, who would wake up at 5 am for their run and a basketball game. He emphasized the camaraderie he experienced, stating that they treated him like one of their own rather than an outsider.

“I am like a kid in the candy store when I am around the army as I get to listen to such fascinating stories, such heroic stories from them. We have not even touched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to making movies from the stories of the army,” Kaushal shared.

The actor acknowledged the families of army personnel as unsung heroes and emphasized that his biggest takeaway from army films is the opportunity to interact with the real heroes of the country.

Vicky Kaushal recently visited the Attari-Wagah border to promote his upcoming film, Sam Bahadur. Accompanied by Meghna Gulzar and co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh, he participated in the lowering of the flags ceremony, expressing gratitude to the Border Security Force (BSF).
