Actor Imran Khan, most popular for his romantic comedies, is on a virtual journey to “reconnect with my films and adjust the way I feel about them”. As part of his process, the actor shares behind-the-scenes photos from the sets of his films, accompanied with some unheard anecdotes. On Tuesday, the actor took to Instagram to revisit I Hate Luv Storys.
The choice of spelling for the title has often confused fans. However, when Imran revealed the reason behind this choice, it seemed obvious. He wrote, “First, let’s address the spelling of the title, which always made me feel like I was wearing my shoes on the wrong feet. The orthographic butchery was done in service of numerology, which I personally never bought into, but here we are 13 years later still talking about the film’s popularity, so… what do I know.”

Imran shared multiple photos from his time on the set with co-star Sonam Kapoor and director Punit Malhotra. He wrote, “I instantly hit it off with @punitdmalhotra and we quickly developed a great working relationship. The energy was amazing, and since we were telling a story about the movie business, there was an extra twinkle in everyone’s eyes.”
“We always cracked up while filming scenes that we knew were based on reality… everybody knows the famous director who inspired the scene where @samirsoni123 punishes his ADs like a schoolteacher, or @aamirali ‘s movie star who needs massive cue cards for his lines,” he added.
Talking about his experience working with Sonam, Imran wrote, “The ethereal @sonamkapoor as my costar… as you can imagine, it wasn’t much of a challenge to spend those months staring admiringly at her, playing the part of a guy falling in love.”
Fans of the actor swarmed his comments section, requesting him to star in films again. Imran had earlier hinted at a comeback after he reposted veteran actress Zeenat Aman’s reel on his Instagram story with the words, “Taking notes on how to make a comeback from Zeenat ji.”
Imran’s fans are eager with anticipation for the actor to announce his comeback film. Despite early commercial success, Imran faced setbacks when his films Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and Katti Batti did not perform well. He did make a comeback as a director in 2018, helming the short film Mission Mars: Keep Walking India, but did not pursue a career in direction thereafter.
