India are next set to face Australia in a three-match ODI series in women’s cricket. They already won the one-off Test to start their bilateral tour in a good manner. This going to be India’s first game in the format since July.

Their last ODI series saw them go level 1-1 against Bangladesh. The opening game of that tour saw Bangladesh take the victory by 40 runs via DLS. India won the second ODI by 108 runs as Jemimah Rodrigues scalped four wickets in three overs while only giving away three runs. In the deciding game, India matched Bangladesh’s total of 225 but were unable to find one more run for a victory. They will now be itching to bag the series against the Aussies early as they look to end the year on a winning note.

The first ODI between IND-W and AUS-W will be hosted at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on December 28. On the flip side, Australia will be heading into the upcoming fixtures with an ODI series triumph over the West Indies. They beat the side 2-0, winning the first and third games in the series. The second match was ultimately declared a no result due to interruption due to rainfall. It will be interesting to see if the Aussies can maintain a similar form against the Women in Blue.

Pitch Report:

The cricket pitch at the Wankhede Stadium has often led to some high-scoring encounters. The boundaries of the stadium are small with the pitch being a batting wicket. It does make up a little for the bowlers with its tendency to assist spinners. The average first-inning scoring is comparatively higher than the second half, providing a significant advantage to teams batting first.

Weather Report:

Mumbai will be mostly cloudy on December 28 but the chances of rainfall will remain on the lower side at two per cent. The temperatures should be hovering around 33 degrees Celsius during the day while they may drop down to 23 degrees Celsius at night. Humidity should range anywhere from 41 per cent in the daytime to 59 per cent when it gets dark. Winds should be blowing at a speed of 10 km/h to 15km/h.
