Pankaj Tripathi Says OMG 2 Didn't Reach The Target Audience Because of 'A' Certificate: 'How Will..'
OMG 2 was released in theatres on August 11 after 27 cuts from the Censor Board of Film Certification.

Over a month after OMG 2’s release, Pankaj Tripathi has now said that the film did not reach the target audience because of ‘adult only’ certification from the Central Board of Certification (CBFC). Tripathi was speaking to India Today when he claimed that a lot of families could not watch the Amir Rai directorial and hoped that they would now watch the film on OTT. OMG 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.

“Because of the ‘A’ certificate, it became difficult for families to watch the film. One family has a husband, wife, and a little child, so how will they come? If it wasn’t an A certificate, I think the film would have been even better. The film is already a super hit,” Pankaj Tripathi told the entertainment portal.

And the other thing is that business isn’t important. What’s important is that the message, which was meant for a certain age group, didn’t reach them. Hopefully, people will now come on OTT and watch it and understand,” the actor added.

This comes days after Akshay Kumar also said that the film was made for children but they could not see it since it has been granted an ‘adult only’ certificate. “I made that film (OMG 2) for children. It is a film to be shown to children. Unfortunately, it cannot be shown because it was given an adult film certificate and there is nothing adult in it,” he told ANI.

In another interview, Akshay added, “I don’t want to fight. I have no idea about the rules. I didn’t get into the rulebook. If they thought it was an adult film, then… did you all feel it is an adult film? Whoever we have shown the film to, they loved it. I made it for youngsters and I’m happy it is coming on Netflix and I’m happy about it. That’s it. The important thing is that people should know about it.”
