Park Shin-Hye, Park Hyun-Sik's Doctor Slump Has Fans Excited

Park Shin-hye and Park Hyun-sik have teamed up for a new romance drama series titled Doctor Slump. Directed by Oh Hyun-jong, the web show centers around the lives of two medical students — Yeo Jung-woo (Park Hyung-sik) and Nam Ha-neul (Park Shin-hye). Scheduled to be released on January 27, 2024, the series will delve into the equation between Yeo Jung-woo and Nam Ha-neul who start on a hate and competitive note but later on unite together becoming each other’s biggest support system. Doctor Slump already created much noise among K-drama lovers and now the release of the show’s teaser has piqued their interest further.

Doctor Slump’s teaser was dropped on YouTube by JTBC Drama recently. The video opens with a dreamy setting with Yeo Jung-woo giving his hand to Nam Ha-neul amidst withering pink blossoms. They look at each other with eyes full of love. But in a hilarious twist of events, Nam Ha-neul in a sudden and aggressive mode pulls Yeo Jung-woo harshly making him trip over. Leaping over him, she runs fast in a bid to reach somewhere before Yeo Jung-woo, indicating fierce competition at the helm. In the course of the teaser, the masses are shown the duo’s contrasting personalities with Yeo Jung-woo being the goofy one and Nam Ha-neul getting visibly annoyed by his silly tactics.

The first scene shows Yeo Jung-woo saying in Korean, “The girl I liked at that time". But soon after Nam Ha-neul outpaced him, he quickly changes his opinion and says, “The girl I hated at that time." As per Soompi, the textual inscription on the poster reads, “Spring 2009, I met my worst rival." But in a surprising turn of fate, Nam Ha-neul, later on, reveals that the boy she wanted to “shake by the collar" earlier was the one she wanted to run back to after “facing the greatest slump".

The teaser video concludes with Yeo Jung-woo and Nam Ha-neul crossing paths unexpectedly, presumably after years. As they pointed fingers at one another, the duo exuded a shocked expression after being able to recognise each other. The teaser offers a spirited rivalry between the protagonists which turns into something deeper and meaningful later on.

Park Shin-hye and Park Hyun-sik’s collaboration has excited K-drama enthusiasts especially because the two talented stars will be reuniting after almost 10 years. The duo earlier made a joint appearance in the 2013 drama series The Heirs.
