Renowned producer and the head honcho of Bombino Video Cassettes, Babubhai Latiwala, is no more. He passed away during the late hours of Friday, as reported by Indian Express. His funeral is scheduled for today at 4 p.m, with his mortal remains to be laid to rest in Juhu’s cemetery. Babubhai Latiwala made notable contributions to the film industry as the guiding force behind BOMBINO Video, a well-established private limited company. One of his remarkable achievements was the production of the popular movie Veergati in 1995. This film, a testament to his vision, featured Salman Khan along with other talents such as Pooja Dadwal and Farida Jalal.
Veergati was an action drama directed by K.K. Singh, who was also the producer of the film, alongside Babubhai Latiwala. Despite its popular star cast and action scenes, the film was not received well by the audience. It also did not do very well at the box office but surprisingly, had a very successful DVD release later on.
The plot of the movie revolves around a gangster and his flunkies who abduct and kill an innocent man’s daughter. Soon, the man’s adopted son sets out to avenge her death.
Babubhai showcased his versatile talent in Tirchhi Topiwale in 1998. This screenplay, brought to life with his distinctive storytelling style, starred prominent actors including Chunky Pandey, Monica Bedi, Inder Kumar, Alok Nath, and Kader Khan. Tirchhi Topiwale was a musical comedy-drama directed by Nadeem Khan. Babubhai Latiwala also wrote the story and screenplay for this beloved comedy, apart from producing it. Following his success in the Bollywood industry, Babubhai Latiwala relocated and settled in Auckland, New Zealand, and had recently returned to Mumbai, as reported By Indian Express.
