Sidharth Malhotra’s highly anticipated Indian Police Force is all set to release on January 19. Leading up to the release, the makers recently dropped the trailer for the series. While the trailer has received a massive response from fans, the cast is busy promoting the series before its release. In a recent interview, Sidharth Malhotra said that he is “possibly looking” to play the role of a villain.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, the actor said, “At present, I’m not averse to it (playing a villain). It’s something that I am also possibly looking. So it’s up to the writers and director. If something interesting comes up, of course. Why not?”
In the same interview, Rohit Shetty was asked which character is more difficult to write – a hero or a villain. “Villain. Because I think for an action film or any film, if the problem is not bigger, the hero can’t get bigger. The problem has to be big. Whether it’s a love story, they can have a problem of their own. The villain comes with a character, so the villain is the most important,” he said.
The action-thriller series will feature Sidharth as a Delhi Police Officer named Kabir Malik. The recently released 3-minute trailer showcased Sidharth leading his team on a relentless pursuit of a criminal responsible for a series of bomb blasts in the city.
The collaboration between Sidharth Malhotra and renowned filmmaker Rohit Shetty in the Indian Police Force was a result of a chance encounter. Rohit revealed to Bollywood Hungama earlier that while planning a movie together, he narrated the web series to Sidharth, who immediately agreed to come on board for this action-packed venture. Rohit humorously mentioned that the choice was simple – Sidharth is “the most handsome cop”.
Indian Police Force is all set to release on January 19 on Amazon Prime Video.
