Vijay Deverakonda recently garnered praise for his last film, Kushi. The romantic comedy received mixed reviews from critics. Now, Vijay Deverakonda is currently gearing up for his next movie. According to reports, following their successful collaboration in Geetha Govindam, Vijay Deverakonda and director Parasuram Petla are teaming up once again for this new film, tentatively titled VD 13. The movie will star Mrunal Thakur as the female lead and is confirmed to hit theatres during Sankranthi 2024. The makers recently turned to social media to announce that the title, along with a teaser, will be unveiled on October 18, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. As per reports, the film is produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. The music for the movie will be composed by Gopi Sundar.
Vijay Deverakonda and Parasuram Petla’s 2018 Telugu-language romantic comedy film Geetha Govindam was a huge commercial success. It was made on a budget of Rs 5 crore and collected Rs 132 crore at the box office. The film was produced by Bunny Vas under the banner of GA2 Pictures, and it also featured Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, along with Subbaraju, Rahul Ramakrishna, and Nagendra Babu in supporting roles.
Vijay was last seen in Kushi alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The film was written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers. The film is set around an atheist household where a young man falls in love with the daughter of his father’s arch-rival, a devout Hindu leader.
Vijay Deverakonda made his acting debut in 2011 with the film Nuvvila. He rose to prominence as a leading film actor by starring in the blockbusters Pelli Choopulu (2016) and Arjun Reddy (2017).
