Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment are reportedly in talks for a groundbreaking new film project helmed by acclaimed director Alejandro González Iñárritu, with Hollywood megastar Tom Cruise set to star, according to an exclusive report by Deadline. This collaboration marks Iñárritu’s return to English-language cinema since his critically acclaimed work on The Revenant.
The untitled film is said to be produced and directed by Iñárritu, featuring a script co-written in 2023 with Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone, his collaborators from the award-winning film Birdman, reuniting after a decade. Cruise, in addition to his starring role, will also serve as a producer, marking his first project following the recent announcement of his strategic partnership with Warner Bros. It is expected that Legendary Entertainment will also be involved in the production.
Details of the project are being kept tightly under wraps, with no plot specifics revealed other than it is an original story penned by Iñárritu.
