A Mini Diwali on January 22: How Societies in Noida are Preparing for Pran Pratishtha
Amrapali Zodiac Society in Noida’s Sector 120, Supertech Capetown, Jaypee Wish Town have organised grand Havans and Aartis, Deepotsav, livestreaming of Lord Ram’s ceremony from Ayodhya on January 21-22

Noida, the economic hub of Uttar Pradesh, having a significant chunk of 820,000 people living in more than 250 housing societies, is getting ready for the Lord Ram’s Pran Pratistha. From giant screens to thousands of earthen lights, each society is trying to outshine the other after Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the entire country to “celebrate Deepawali” on January 22.

Amrapali Zodiac Society in Noida’s Sector 120 has arranged a two-day event that will start precisely at 12 pm on January 21 with the ‘Akhand Path’ of Ram Charitmanas, which will resume the next day at 2 pm. Following this, the society association has arranged a grand Havan and Maha Aarti as well.

AOA president Gaurav Asati told News18 that they have started decorating the temple where the main event will take place, and are expecting 1,000-1,500 residents to join in. “We will light around 1,000 diyas on that day to mark the historic moment,” Asati said.

Earlier, while addressing a rally in Ayodhya, PM Modi said, “The whole world is waiting for the historic moment. With folded hands, I am requesting 140 crore people of the country that on January 22, when the consecration of Ram Lalla’s idol takes place, light the Ram Jyoti in your respective house and celebrate Deepawali. The entire nation should sparkle with lights on the evening of January 22”.

Not far from Amrapali Zodiac is Supertech Capetown — one of the biggest societies of Noida, in terms of area. They too have organised a similar event on January 22 in the evening. A message that is being officially released by the facility team reads, “On the auspicious occasion of auspicious Shri Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha dates 22.01.2024, we are going to decorate all our society gates, clubs and organise a Deepostsav in Lake Garden at 6 pm.” They have urged each family to bring five diyas along with them. There are reportedly 8,055 flats in the project.

Across the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Jaypee Wish Town residents have taken it upon themselves to organise what they are calling ‘Shri Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav’ at their sports arena. While the event will start at 9 am with Shobha Yatra, it will go on till 10 pm. Giant screens are also being placed to livestream the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ from Ayodhya. Between 5 and 6 pm, the residents have decided to light diyas while at 7.30-7.45 pm, they have arranged to offer Aarti while also live steam it on giant screens from Ayodhya.

Similar giant screens are in the process of being set up in ATS One Hamlet while decoration has slowly started to join in the festive fervor that is prevailing in many part of India.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of what’s coming in Noida’s more than 250 housing societies on or around January 22. Meanwhile, RSS and VHP workers have together approached nearly all families living is these societies with their Akshat invite drive. Akshat is a sacred grain used in Hindu religious events. Families are invited to visit the Ram Temple after the consecration ceremony, with the sacred rice along with an invitation card.
