G20 Summit: Canada PM Trudeau's Plane Suffers Technical Snag, Delegation Stay in India Tonight
Due to this, Trudeau and the Canadian delegation might stay in India till the issue is fixed

As the G20 Summit came to a close, Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau could not leave New Delhi at his scheduled time, as his plane suffered from a technical snag on Sunday evening.

Due to this, the Canadian delegation might stay in India till the engineering team on ground rectifies the issue, the Delhi Airport officials told news agency ANI.

Trudeau was in Delhi to attend the two-day G20 Summit, which saw three sessions on Saturday and Sunday, along with the announcement of New Delhi Declaration, and the launch of India- Middle East- Europe Economic Corridor.

While in the national capital, Trudeau met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the sidelines of the Summit, and congratulated him on the success of India’s G2O Presidency.

Prime Minister highlighted that India-Canada relations are anchored in shared democratic values, respect for rule of law and strong people-to-people ties. PM Modi also conveyed strong concerns about continuing anti-India activities of extremist elements in Canada.

“They are promoting secessionism and inciting violence against Indian diplomats, damaging diplomatic premises, and threatening the Indian community in Canada and their places of worship,” a press release by the Ministry of External Affairs said.

“The nexus of such forces with organized crime, drug syndicates and human trafficking should be a concern for Canada as well. It is essential for the two countries to cooperate in dealing with such threats,” it added.

Prime Minister also mentioned that a relationship based on mutual respect and trust is essential for the progress of India-Canada relationship.
