With India set to face Bangladesh in Pune on Thursday, this will be the first World Cup match in the city in 27 years. Cricket enthusiasts from Pune, Mumbai, and beyond are expected to reach the stadium.

Bangladesh kicked off their World Cup journey with a victory against Afghanistan on October 7, but faced defeats in their subsequent two matches against England and New Zealand.

While India is on top, adding to Bangladesh’s challenge, their campaign might face a significant setback if captain Shakib Al Hasan is unavailable. The star all-rounder is scheduled for a fitness test just hours before Thursday’s crucial match.

How To Reach The Stadium

State Transport’s Special Rs 100 Offer

To facilitate the commute for cricket enthusiasts heading to the Maharashtra Cricket Association’s (MCA) stadium in Gahunje, situated approximately 20 km from Pune city, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has introduced a dedicated bus service from three different locations in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad areas.

On October 19, PMPML will run multiple bus services from three key stations: PMC Headquarters, Katraj Bypass Bus Stop, and Nigdi Tilak Chowk bus station.

Departure Schedule from Various Stations

PMC Headquarters: Three buses will leave at 11 am, 11.35 am, and 12.05 pm. Katraj Bypass Bus Stop: Buses will depart at 11 am and 11.30 am. Nigdi’s Tilak Chowk Bus Stop: Two buses will depart at 12 noon and 12.30 pm.

Private Vehicle Routes

The Pimpri-Chinchwad traffic police have established specific routes for private vehicles to access the designated traffic areas.

It has been emphasized that as ticket sales will not be available at the stadium, individuals without a ticket will be restricted from entering to prevent overcrowding.

Enthusiasts have been cautioned against parking their vehicles outside the assigned parking zones, as such vehicles will be towed away, as per police instructions.

If coming from Mumbai: Four-wheelers will have to a U-turn at Mukai Chowk and proceed towards the “general parking” area via the service road.
