Kashmiri Kahwa to Kerala Red Rice: G20 Leaders Relish Indian Food With Music At Dinner Hosted by Prez

At President Droupadi Murmu’s grand G20 dinner, a group of over 50-60 musicians and instrumentalists are set to perform for India’s guests on Saturday. The performance will present ‘Bharat Vadya Darshanam: Musical Journey of India’ by the ‘Gaandharva Aatodyam’ group. Apart from this, a “specially-curated three-course meal” will be served at the President’s grand gala.

The menu will consist of various Indian delicacies consumed during monsoons as well and popular sweets will also be served to the guests.

According to PTI, all preparations are through and senior managers and staff members of a luxury hotel group will set up traditional and grand dinner tables at Bharat Mandapam, which will host the two-day summit.

“We have prepared a specially-curated menu, keeping in mind the culinary delicacies consumed during this (monsoon) season in India. Millet-based dishes will be on the menu too,” a source in the luxury hospitality group told PTI.

Bharat Vadya Darshanam, which translates to ‘Musical Journey of India’, a concert that would highlight the depth of India’s culture, will be a first-of-its-kind combination of various musical genres, said the Ministry of Culture. The Sangeet Natak Akademi is in charge of organising it.

Up to 78 instrumentalists from throughout the nation, including 11 children, 13 women, and seven artists with disabilities, will be a part of the ensemble, according to the officials.

G20 DINNER: WHAT’S IN MENU TONIGHT

President’s grand G20 dinner will have tons of Indian and fusion delicacies specially prepared to suit the various tastes of foreign delegates and G20 leaders.

  • Onion seed-flavoured soft bun

  • Cardamom-flavoured sweet flatbread
  • Madhurima ‘Pot of gold’
  • Cardamom-scented Barnyard millet pudding, fig-peach compote and Ambemohar rice crisps
  • Kashmiri Kahwa, Filter Coffee and Darjeeling Tea
  • Paan-flavoured chocolate leaves

Guests Attending G20 Grand Gala Tonight

Apart from the world leaders and delegates, the cabinet ministers who are going to attend the event include Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Narendra Singh Tomar, S Jaishankar, Arjun Munda, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan and Pralhad Joshi.

Union ministers attending the dinner include Narayan Rane, Sarbananda Sonowal, Virendra Kumar, Giriraj Singh, Jyotiraditya Nath Sindhiya, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Pashupati Kumar Paras, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Kiran Rijiju, Rajkumar Singh, Hardeep Singh Puri, Mansukh Mandaviya, Bhupendra Yadav, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Purushotam Rupala, G Kishan Reddy, and Anurag Thakur.
