KL Rahul Waiting For 'Diwali Ladoos' After Smashing Century Against Netherlands in World Cup
KL Rahul said that he was 'waiting for his Diwali Ladoos' after helping delivering India's 160-run victory over Netherlands by smashing a century ahead of the semifinal.

KL Rahul helped India pick up a 160-run victory over the Netherlands on Diwali, smashing a century to gift the Indian team a ninth consecutive victory in the World Cup 2023.

Rahul later posted a picture on social media, claiming that he was ‘waiting for Ladoos’ after delivering happiness to the entire nation with his century.

The 31-year-old was seen cosying up on his home after the Indian team reached Mumbai ahead of their World Cup 2023 semifinal against New Zealand. The Men in Blue will face the Kiwis on November 15, at the Wankhede Stadium.

“Waiting for my Diwali ladooos…” wrote Rahul on social media platform X.

The wicketkeeper batter has been in red-hot form during the World Cup, he had earlier narrowly missed his century against Australia, but finally got the chance to raise the bat with a well-deserved hundred against the Dutch team.

After Hardik Pandya’s injury, Rahul was promoted to India’s vice-captain and he has contributed to the team’s 9-match winning streak not just with the bat by taking some stellar catches as well.

Rahul has also been Rohit Sharma’s most trusted voice when going for DRS calls, and he recent stated jokingly that he doesn’t get the praise he deserves for getting the DRS calls right.

“Wicketkeeping gets difficult sometimes, but I enjoy being involved in the game, the bowlers have challenged me during DRS calls, but they don’t give me enough credit (on DRS calls),” said Rahul after scoring his century.
