More G20 Leaders Land in New Delhi, Saudi Crown Prince, Germany's Scholz Among Latest Arrivals
Saudi Crown Prince and German Chancellor join G20 leaders in New Delhi. Summit focuses on global issues like digital innovation and climate resilience

Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in New Delhi on Saturday to join dozens of leaders who will participate G20 summit in India.

The head of the Arab world’s largest economy is expected to sign an infrastructure agreement with the US and other G20 members to explore the building of a rail and shipping network that links the Middle East to India and Europe. Meanwhile, the German Chancellor is also expected to hold meetings with several world leaders on the sidelines of the forum.

“More G20 leaders touch down in New Delhi for the G20 Summit. Crown Prince and PM of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud welcomed by Minister @RailMinIndia @pib_comm & @GoI_MeitY @AshwiniVaishnaw. Besides attending the G20 Summit, His Royal Highness will continue his stay in India for a State Visit. Chancellor of Germany @Bundeskanzler welcomed by MOS @minmsme @bpsvermabjp,” the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) wrote on Twitter.

The 18th G20 Summit is being held at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre in the national capital on Saturday and Sunday. A Leaders Declaration will be adopted at the conclusion of the New Delhi Summit. On Friday, a number of world leaders and heads of state arrived in New Delhi including US President Joe Biden and United Nations chief Antonio Guterres.

President Droupadi Murmu today extended a warm welcome to all Heads of Delegations of the G20 nations, Guest countries, and International Organisations participating in the Summit.  “India’s G20 Presidency theme, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One Earth, One Family, One Future’, is a global roadmap for sustainable, inclusive, and human-centric development. I wish the participants of G20 Summit every success in their efforts towards realising this vision,” President Murmu wrote on X.

During the G20 presidency, India has focused on various issues like inclusive growth, digital innovation, climate resilience, and equitable global health access. By leveraging its presidency, India is fostering collaborative solutions that benefit its own population and contribute to the broader global well-being.

The summit is being attended by over 30 heads of state and top officials from the European Union and invited guest countries and 14 heads of international organisations.
