Kohli faced 97 balls, including six fours and four sixes, with this century his third score in excess of fifty in four innings following contributions of 85 and 55 not out in recent pool wins over Australia and Afghanistan.

India, set a target of 257, finished on 261-3 inside 42 overs with Kohli hitting the winning runs when he reached his hundred with a six off spinner Nasum Ahmed.

They got there with more than eight overs to spare, finishing on 261-3.

Kohli’s 48th one-day international century left him just one shy of equalling India great Tendulkar’s all-time record of 49 hundreds at this level.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Conway has slipped to the third position with 249 runs as he missed out on big knocks in the last two matches.

Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan is just one run short of Conway and sits at the fourth spot with 248 runs.

Proteas star Quinton de Kock, who started the tournament with back-to-back centuries is also in the race with 229 runs.

In the wickets tally, Mitchell Santner holds the top spot with 11 wickets in 4 matches. Jasprit Bumrah claimed a couple of wickets against Bangladesh and is just one scalp behind Santner in the race with 10.

New Zealand and Indian bowlers dominate the tally as the third and fourth spot are also occupied them with Matt Henry (9) and Ravindra Jadeja (7) respectively.

Kagiso Rabada, Hasan Ali, Bas de Leede and Dilshan Madushanka have also claimed 7 wickets each thus far in the tournament.
