Volkswagen is all set to launch Virtus GT Matte Edition next month in India. It offers limited edition luxury with powerful performance.

Volkswagen has unveiled a striking new Carbon Steel Grey Matte exterior paint option for its special Virtus GT Edge limited collection.

The automaker is all set to make the official price announcement in October 2023. Previously, the GT Edge Plus limited collection was only available in the Deep Black Pearl shade, but now, it’s undergoing a bold transformation with this fierce matte finish.

Furthermore, Volkswagen has already begun accepting online bookings for these matte editions since September 11, and deliveries are slated to hit the roads next month. Moreover, Volkswagen emphasizes that delivery times are estimated at a minimum of six weeks, and it’s all on a first-come, first-served basis. These exclusive matte variants are not just limited in numbers; they also boast a unique sense of style.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Matte Edition: Features

These limited editions come equipped with a range of features, some shared with the regular Virtus GT, and others exclusive to this prestigious lineup. The cabin boasts of aluminum pedals, cherry red leatherette upholstery, and vibrant red ambient lighting.

Safety is at the forefront of Volkswagen’s design, and the Virtus boasts a stellar 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. The safety package includes up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, and a tire pressure monitor, among other cutting-edge features.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Matte Edition: Engine Specification

Under the hood, the Virtus GT is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates a top power of 150 bhp and a peak torque of 250Nm. Transmission duty is taken care of by a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

The fuel efficiency ratings are equally impressive, with the 7-speed DSG variant claiming 19.6 kilometers per litre and the manual version boasting 18.8 kilometers per litre.

As for Volkswagen’s India lineup, it currently consists of three exceptional models: the Taigun, the Virtus, and the Tiguan.

Special editions for both the Taigun midsize SUV and the Virtus have been introduced to captivate Indian car enthusiasts. While no formal announcements have been made about expanding their portfolio, Volkswagen has hinted at plans to launch the Tayron as a Tiguan Allspace replacement in 2025 via CKD kits. Additionally, the all-electric ID.4 is on the horizon for India as a CBU import.
