Advani's yatra should start from Karnataka: Cong
The Congress criticism came on a day when the BJP announced details of the 38-day yatra beginning on October 11.

New Delhi: Congress on Wednesday had a dig at the BJP's probity plank saying LK Advani's yatra against corruption beginning next week should start from party ruled-Karnataka instead of Bihar.

"It will be appropriate that instead of Bihar, the yatra should start from Karnataka...the fight should start from Karnataka", party spokesman Rashid Alvi told reporters.

In sarcastic remarks, he said that BJP leaders like Dilipsingh Judeo, Bangaru Lakshman, former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and the controversial Reddy brothers from Bellary should be associated with the yatra. All these leaders have been charged with corruption.

The BJP rule in Karnataka has come under sharp attack over the past few months on the issue of corruption with the illegal mining scam and land scams creating controversies galore.

In an obvious swipe at Advani's prime Ministerial ambition, Alvi said that the motive for which he was setting out on the yatra would not be fulfilled.

The Congress criticism came on a day when the BJP announced details of the 38-day yatra beginning on October 11 to create awareness about corruption but remained tight-lipped about the expenditure the massive programme would entail.
